Pricing guide
How to price sublimation products
Profitable sublimation pricing accounts for the blank, printing supplies, design work, pressing time, packaging and failed items—not only the wholesale cost of the shirt or tumbler.
Count every consumable
Include the blank, sublimation ink, paper, tape, protective paper, shrink wrap and packaging. Small supply costs become meaningful when repeated across dozens of orders.
Pay yourself for preparation
Artwork cleanup, color adjustments, printing, trimming, taping and pressing are work. Add the minutes spent on a normal order and use an hourly rate that reflects skilled production rather than treating your time as free.
Plan for misprints and remakes
Sublimation blanks can arrive damaged and pressing errors happen. Build a modest waste allowance into material cost or overhead so one remake does not erase the profit from the order.
Review the final order total
For multi-item orders, multiply the per-item price and confirm the full order pays for setup and handling. Offer quantity discounts only when the repeated production steps genuinely reduce your cost.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a sublimation tumbler price?
Combine the tumbler blank, ink, paper, tape, packaging, design and pressing labor, overhead and selling fees, then add the profit needed for the order.
Should I include sublimation ink and paper?
Yes. Estimate a practical per-print supply cost and include it with tape, protective paper and packaging rather than absorbing those costs.
How should I price bulk sublimation orders?
Calculate the normal total first. Discount only the labor or setup that is actually saved through repetition, while keeping materials, fees and adequate profit covered.
